Day 14 ~ Lines of Longitude and Latitude

Today in class we talked about the importance that lines of longitude and latitude have on the globes and maps that we look at every day. We talked about how we can use longitude and latitude lines to determine the exact location of where things are shown on a map or globe. it was cool to see how the lines of longitude and latitude clearly are shown on every globe or map no matter the size or shape of the map. We also talked about how different coordinates mark the different landmarks such as where the equator lies and the different countries it runs through. we also talked about absolute location. Absolute location is the exact point at which a certain place or object is located. Lines of longitude and latitude help you determine and show you how to find the exact location of a specific place or object. The equator is an example of an exact location based on where it is marked based on the lines of longitude and latitude.

Day 55 ~ last day of the semester

Today was our last day of human geography with Mr.schick so we decided as a class to gather one last time to watch Jeopardy. As a class we all try to figure out the answers before the contestant on the show can answer and if one of us gets the questions right we either get bragging rights or just a boost in self-confidence. I always thought it was funny when Mr.Schick took the game too seriously and decides to get a bit heated toward not getting the answer correct. Sadly, I will not have Mr. Schick next semester so I will not have anyone to randomly have a loud outburst of enthusiasm when its first Mod and everyone really is not one hundred percent awake yet. But overall I will miss Huaman Geo as a whole next semester.

Day 20 ~ Introduction to the New Chapter

Today in class we started to look over the new chapter that we will begin to learn in class starting tomorrow. I got an early start on the lesson by starting to take notes on the first powerpoint. One of the main things that the powerpoint went over was the population and the growth of the population. We also spent a good chunk of the class talking about how China tried to plan a way to control or decrease the population by telling their citizens that they can only have one baby and if they go over that one baby a family limit they will have to pay a large fine toward the government. Even if you ended up having more than just one baby you wouldn't have to pay to send them to school. Even if you pay the fine for the "extra" child you would not have to pay to give them a good education. Yesterday was sort of a chill class because it was a more individual study time so that the people that missed the test for a sport could make it up while the rest of the class got a he...
